250 Years of DE!
The year of 2003 will be a landmark year for us. Next year marks 250 years ago since Egbert Douwes and his wife Akke started their little retail store in 'De Witte Os'. In 1753, they laid the foundations of Douwe Egberts, as it is today, a company operating worldwide and one of the leading companies in the out-of-home coffee market.
Starting in October 2002, there will be a range of special events and festivities throughout 2002 and 2003, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Douwe Egberts. Although most of the festivities will take place in the Netherlands, DE companies worldwide will be taking part and keeping an eye on the celebrations.
