Next to a good quality product, customers want assurance about food safety. Anticipating the increasing professionalism of the market and complying with future legislation, Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems continuously sharpens its policy towards food suppliers regarding modern food safety requirements.
The HACCP system identifies specific hazards and preventative measures for their control to ensure the safety of food. HACCP is applied throughout the food supply chain from the primary producer (e.g. farmer) to final consumer, often expressed as 'from stable to table'. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.
On top of existing quality systems such as ISO and HACCP, Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems initiates independent assessments at suppliers' locations worldwide. We work with external experts and the findings are used for further improvement.
To ensure good implementation and maintenance of the HACCP system, an HACCP certificate will be granted to a food manufacturer when its operational HACCP system complies with the norm when judged by a certifying organization. Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems only operates with HACCP compliant companies.
